Groups in Ecuador
Ecuador's indigenous organisations estimate one quarter of the population to be indigenous. There are 14 separate indigenous nations in the country.
LifeMosaic worked closely with Ecuadorian groups and NGOs in the process of filming and producing 'Fever - A Video-Guide'. We worked particularly closely with the people of Sarayaku in the Amazonian region of Ecuador who share their stories and experiences in the film.
CONAIE (Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador)
The 'Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador' (CONAIE), is Ecuador's largest indigenous organization. Formed in 1986, CONAIE has pursued social change on behalf of the region's significant native population using a wide range tactics including direct action.
